Shop’s sales help fund NGO’s sterilisation campaign

Donations of pet food and cash are welcome.

FROM June, 4 Paws and a Tale Rescue will be able to sterilise 14 underprivileged dogs a month in the rural areas of Toti, Umkomaas and Scottburgh, where it primarily operates.

“The sterilisation has been made possible due to funds raised through our charity shop, Tale End. It is amazing, never say the impossible cannot be achieved. Our shop only opened in February and we are able to help 14 dogs, with hopes to improve the numbers to 20 dogs a month,” said the organisation’s Jacqueline Smith.

The non-profit organisation is growing steadily and recently acquired a shipping container to store extra donated items for its shop. “The container was donated by Gavin Smith and Ricky Jacobs of Remax gave us permission to park it on their premises.”

As Tale End has limited space, all excess items such as books, clothes, Christmas decorations and miscellaneous goods will be stored in the container until such time it can be added to the shop’s contents.
“We thank the community for its support. It’s because of the public’s generosity, that we are able to continue with our sterilisation and feeding programmes.”

Currently, the organisation feeds 80 dogs and 40 cats, seven days a week. Donations of pet food and cash are welcome. Deposits can be made into 4 Paws and a Tale fundraising account, First National Bank Scottburgh, account number 6244-342-4990, branch code, 220-227.

Visit Tale End at Pahla Centre (next to Kip McGrath). It’s open from 8.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday and 8.30am to noon on Saturdays. For more information contact Jacqueline on 082-462-7184 or visit the Facebook page 4 Paws and a Tale Rescue to be kept updated.
