AN eight year-old-boy sustained serious injuries after running into the side of a moving vehicle along Prince Street, Umbogintwini at about 3pm on Wednesday, 21 May.
“Reports indicate he and a friend tried to run across the road towards the shopping centre, when he ran into the side of a vehicle travelling south,” said Netcare 911 media liaison, Chris Botha.
Paramedics found the child at the side of the road with a local doctor attending to him. After he was stabilised and immobilised on a trauma board, paramedics transported him to a local hospital.
