London Electric Run event lights up flamingo fund

A total of R6,900 raised by ex-Warner Beach residents.

Ex-Warner Beach residents lit up the London Team Flamingo charge at the weekend, by participating in the Electric Run.

Toti paddlers, Ross Fountain and Brett Hadiaris started Team Flamingo to raise funds for their friend Kevin, who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and to raise awareness of cancer.

The Electric Run is a five kilometre run and walk, where participants are an integrated part of the show. Featuring immersive ‘lands’ of light and sound, runners and walkers are transported into an electric wonderland as they participate. They are encouraged to join in on the art by lighting up with glow sticks, LEDs and anything else their imagination can conjure up.

“Ex-Warner Beach residents, Sian Fountain, Kayleigh Simpson, Attie Fourie, Noekie Smith, Andrea Fourie, Carol De Vos, Dac Fourie, Kim Holder, Keegan Fourie, Leanne Labuschagne and Jennifer Sawyer all took part in the run on Saturday night, wearing their pink Team Flamingo suits to raise funds for Kevin,” said Ross Fountain. “They raised £388, which equates to R6,900.”
