Water woes drown pensioners

On 28 February we experienced a leak on our water meter, which the municipality came to fix on 4 March.

In the meanwhile the water leak resulted in an enormous bill. I queried this with the water department and the reply was that we have to settle this bill until they send someone to do an adjustment reading and then only will they credit us.

We are pensioners so where on earth do you suddenly get hold of R2500?

Meanwhile we have been waiting for the people to repair the kerb, querying this every second day just to hear the same old story – they are in the process of doing the job. By today, 15 March still nothing has been done.

Can anyone tell me who I can complain to?

I am disgusted at the poor service delivery in our area.
