Sean Penn dazzles star-struck local

Hollywood celebrity visits Toti last week.

TOTI’S Kathy Cowling is still starstruck after having met and received a hug from Hollywood actor, Sean Penn at the Spur at Toti main beach on Sunday, 6 April.

“My family was celebrating two birthdays, my husband, Mike’s and my step-daughter, Lynne’s when we found out he was seated several tables behind us,” said Kathy.

Her son-in-law noticed the celebrity on his way to the bathroom.”He casually told us, ‘by the way Sean Penn is here or his double’.”

A curious Kathy decided to find out if it was really him. “I jumped up excitedly and walked down the aisle. When I turned around, he was facing me. I went up and asked, ‘Are you Sean Penn?’ and he said: ‘yes, I am’.”

Unsure at first, she asked several people sitting at his table if it was him and they confirmed it was. “I was quite overcome with the meeting – it was the first time I had met a famous actor.”

When she asked if he was dating Charlize Theron, he said yes. She asked for a hug. At first he said, ‘excuse me, I am trying to eat”, but relented and hugged an overwhelmed Kathy. “I told him, I loved his movies.”Later the same day, she watched one of his movies, ‘Mystic River’. “I have sent him a friend request via Facebook, but I have not received a reply yet.”

Penn was also spotted at Wimpy Arbour Crossing, also sometime last week.
