ON Easter Monday, 21 April, Winklepruit Bowling will have a ‘Easter egg hunt’ fun bowling morning.
All bowlers and non-bowlers are welcome.
Tabs in at 8.15am and play starts at 9am. The dress code will be casual, with flat shoes. A R15 fee will be charged, with morning tea and coffee included. Bacon and egg rolls will be on sale before the game. Put your names on the list in the club house for catering purposes.
In last week’s club competition results, round two of the women’s senior singles, Jeanette Els defeated Maureen Freeman. In the women’s nominated pairs, Norma Raath and Di Kruger beat Susan Erasmus and Joyce Mackrory. In round one of the mixed nominated pairs 2-4-2, Paul and Jeanette Els defeated Mac and Yvonne Appleby.
In the monthly women’s twinkle trips competition, Susan Erasmus, Charlotte Kohl and Lynette van Vuuren took the overall prize, while Estelle van der Merwe, Eliane Critchlow and Bessie Vergottini claimed the second session prize. The 100 board was won by Jacky Fouche and the mystery prize went to Isabel Milne.
In the monthly Kwik Spar men’s trips competition, the overall prize went to Coy Schwaren, Alec Stirzaker and Ron Greenslade. The second session prize to Bryan Diener, Colin Coetzee and Shaun Sutherland. The 100 board was won by George Cormack.
Congratulations to Bessie Vergottini on winning the Friday, 11 April attendance draw.
On Saturday 12, April the men’s league team won both their games against Toti Bowling Club, fifth division. A very good result well done everyone, still top of the league.
In the Sunday, April 13, Lincoln Steakhouse mixed 2-4-2, the first session prize went to Mac and Yvonne Appleby, the second session prize to Mac and Joyce Mackrory. Andre Gelderblom and Norma Raarth took the overall prize. The 100 board was won by Norma Raath.
There will be afternoon social bowls on Friday, 18 April with soup available after the game.
On Saturday, 19 April it’s the monthly mixed 2-4-2, starting at 9am. Check the notice board for teams, and advise Brian Farmer on 031-916-2387 or 082-483-5875 if you’re unavailable to play.
On Thurdsay, 24 April it’s the men’s 2-4-2 and Sunday, 27 April the monthly mixed trips. Advise Mike Kruger on 031-903-2255 or 082-788-6429 if you are unavailable to play.
On Friday, 25 April a ‘ladies win all’ competition is being arranged to be the first game under floodlights, commencing at 5.30pm. See list on the notice board and ‘tick’ if you want to play, so that team can be selected. Members only.
