Good Samaritan at the skating rink

Deryn de Bruyn stepped in and helped her off the ice.

EDITOR – On Friday, 7 March, a young girl was skating at the Galleria Ice Rink.

She fell and snapped her lower leg, leaving it dangling.

Deryn de Bruyn stepped in and helped her off the ice. While he was helping, an elderly man approached Deryn with blood running down his face. He had tripped and cut his head open.

While the paramedics attended to the young girl, Deryn helped the elderly man.

The ambulance would not take the young girl to the local hospital, as she didn’t have medical insurance.

Deryn took both the young girl and elderly man in his own car to the hospital. I think he deserves recognition as he is a wonderful person and always willing to help.
