“We urge South Africans buy these fun, brightly-coloured bandanas, as the funds raised will help save many more lives. Thousands of South Africans are diagnosed with leukaemia and other life-threatening blood disorders annually. Some 75% of patients are under the age of 25,” said PR manager in KZN, Stephanie Berry.
The Sunflower Fund is the only non-profit organisation in SA dedicated to building the South African Bone Marrow Registry (SABMR).
“National Bandana Day is our biggest fundraiser and signature event of the year. I appeal to corporate SA, schools, universities and the public to support this campaign and to help us make a difference in the lives of these patients. We cannot do this without your help,” said Tina Botha, founder-director of the Sunflower Fund.
