Death of George de Klerk

George de Klerk died at Scottburgh Hospital on Sunday, 22 September.

He was 74-years-old. George was born in then Rhodesia on 6 January, 1939. He moved to Toti in 1975, and then to Widenham from 1980 to 1988.

In 1980 he married Val, who gave birth to their son Warren in the same year. George lost Warren in 2007 and his step-son Myron Wasserman in 2007.

“George was a brilliant mechanic,” said Val. “He was also a technical training officer at the Kwazulu Technical Training Centre in Umlazi for 11 years. When he left he opened his own workshop, Hutton Motors.”

George is survived by his wife Val, sons Dion and David, and daughters Charmaine, Vanessa and Kerry.

His memorial service is at Sweetwaters Full Gospel Church on Friday, 27 September at 10am.
