Market to help add to water tank fund

THE COMMUNITY is urged to support a fundraising morning market at Jabulani Home for the Aged in Sutton Lane, Warner Beach on Saturday, 14 September.

Books, plants, baby clothes, second hand clothes, bric-a-brac, hand-made crafts, paintings by local star, Stan Cross, pickles and preserves will be on sale. There will also be a children’s corner and entertainment. After shopping, tuck into sweet treats, curry and rice, pancakes, bacon and egg rolls and boerewors rolls. For more details about the market contact Jabulani on 031-916-1231 or Beth Duncan on 083-566-2170

The home received two more donations of R1,000 each from St Winifreds Methodist Church and Eileen Davidson towards it drinking water tanks project.

Fundraising co-ordinators, Errol and Sharon-Ann Theron are on a drive to raise R60,000 to replace the 30-year-old three asbestos tanks on the roof with plastic jo-jo tanks.

Response to the fundraiser has been slow, but the Therons are confident the community will come to the home’s rescue, as they have done on previous occasions.

Businesses and the public are urged to support the fundraising drive. Any amount is welcome, but those making a donation of R1,000 and more will be listed on the adjacent barometer until the target is reached.

Funds can be deposited in the following account: Nedbank Limited, account name: KWOFTA, account number: 130-607-6390, branch code130-627. The reference is Water
