The heat could not detract from the bowlers’ relief at being able to meet up with friends again on the greens at Amanzimtoti Bowling Club (ABC) where 14 teams enjoyed a game of Pro 10 for Valentine’s Day.
Congratulations to the winners Phil Whitton and Kevin Lindsay and to Lesley Levy, who won the 100 board.
The first round of the Port Natal men’s novice singles has now been played and ABC had three entrants, namely Shaun Fagan, Kevin Lindsay and Fred Welch. Kevin and Fred were knocked out, but congratulations to Shaun, who went through to round two.
The first round of the Port Natal women’s novice singles will be played on 27 February. Good bowling to Lesley Levy, Hilary Lindsay, Karen Glover and Jaylene Fagan. Big chicks will return to the greens on Sunday, 21 February, at 8.30am for 9am.
TGIF will be on Friday, 26 February, at 6pm when the R10 000 key draw will be held. Tickets are on sale now until that date.
Celebrating birthdays this week are past president and long-standing member Gerald Gordon-Hughes, Denise Bingham, who celebrates her 70th birthday, Archie Walker, Fred Welch, Jacqui Birch and Ann Whitton.
