Amanzimtoti karate champs bag 180 medals

The dojo extends its congratulations to all their students on their results.

The JKA KZN karate team returned home with a bagful of medals from the prestigious SA JKA national championships held in Johannesburg at the Ellis Park Indoor Arena on 19 and 20 May.

The championships saw over 3,000 entries over two days with competitors from around South Africa.

Rising Sun JKA Karate Dojo in Amanzimtoti had 21 students compete for the JKA KZN team. These students excelled in their respective divisions, bringing home 27 medals, with the team medal count totalling 180.

The dojo extends its congratulations to all their students on their results and for the hours of hard work they put in.

Further congratulations were extended to Michael and Savannah Thompson of Rising Sun JKA who have been selected to represent the SA JKA team in the 14th Funakoshi Gichin World Shoto Cup taking place in Limerick, Ireland in August.
