UPDATE: Taxi blockades gridlock major Durban routes

Taxis have closed roads across the city

While Prospecton is still blockaded by the South African National Taxi Association’s (SANTACO) protest action, other parts of Durban are also being shut down in gridlock caused by taxis closing  roads across the city.

While the planned protest action in Prospecton was approved, it is unclear whether the blockade that is shutting down roads across the city was green-lighted.

Rescue Care ambulance service reported that it was unable to respond to an emergency in Prospecton at about 9.30am, as the M7, M4 and N2 are blocked. A bakkie rear-ended a truck on the N2 Joyner Road off-ramp.
