Amanzimtoti gymnasts wow at national champs

They have been awarded with KZN Gymnastics Union colours.

Fusion Rhythmic gymnasts excelled at the South African Gymnastics Federation coastal team trophy competition on Saturday, 27 May.

In level one U6, Isabella Carr earned a silver medal with her second place finish.
Lexie Marsburg won the level one U9 competition and was awarded a gold medal.

“Lexie also had the highest score our of all the level one age groups,” said coach Jess Odendaal.

Amy Dickin claimed a silver medal with her third place in level one U11 and the Fusion gymnasts received a trophy for third overall team.

In level two U9, Danielle Chandler finished third with a silver medal, Leah Rubino second with a gold medal and Emma Frank first overall with gold. “Emma also had the highest score in her age group,” said Jess.

In level two U11, Silke Bester finished first overall with a gold medal. “Silke also had the highest score in her age group, as well as out of all the level two age groups. Her hoop score was the highest in the level two section as well.”
Fusion gymnasts received a trophy for third overall team.

In level three U9, Oratile Moumakwa was first with a gold and she boasted the highest score in her age group.

In level three O11, Kayla Sayner finished fourth with a silver medal and Cindy Erasmus was third with a silver medal. Kayla Steyn tied first overall with a gold medal and she also had the highest score in her age group. Fusion gymnasts received a trophy for second overall team.

“All of these girls have been selected to compete in the novice north zone festival in Johannesburg next month and they have been awarded with KZN Gymnastics Union colours,” said Jess.
