THE local Warners Beach Skate Park project continues to grow in popularity and is gaining more support.

Fundraising initiatives have started with a raffle and local businesses have donated impressive prizes.

“We want to build this skate park which will be free for everyone to use and furthermore create a safe place for youngsters to learn how to skate,” said Kyle van Rooyen, who has come on board to assist with the project.

The youngsters are funding the renovation with their own finance with the help of some local businesses and sponsors.

“We have had great progress so far but we now want to take it to the next level,” said Kyle. “We’ve decided to do some fundraising.”

Money from the raffle will fund building materials such as sand, cement, stone and bricks to build obstacles, resurface the floor and purchase equipment to build with. At R20 a ticket, you stand a chance to win one of many awesome prizes. Winners will be drawn on Thursday, 1 June.

Prizes include:
Hair voucher at Jaxx Creative Salon, gel nails and toes at Iridescent, Four Walls voucher, two bottles of wine and snacks from Pick n Pay, Galleria, mini fire extinguisher and car vacuum cleaner (both to be kept in your car, vacuum plugs into cigarette lighter) donated by Kings Midas Amanzimtoti.
