He joins the Legends’ existing coaching complement of Gopi Naidoo and Ayoub Adam.

Pillay said he is looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead and is confident that his vast experience will add value to the team.

This formidable coaching staff should take Isipingo Legends to greater heights in their quest for honours. In his heyday, Pillay’s dazzling strides down the right wing and pin-point crosses were notable. His experience and discipline on and off the field can only benefit the team, which is still trying to find its feet in the highly competitive KZN oldies over 50 league.

As the current over 60 provincial coach, Pillay is passionate about making a success of the Isipingo Legends. This after a topsy turvy start to the season. The Legends are slowly making inroads with losses to Durban Central and Chatsworth and away victories against KwaMashu and Maritzburg. Management looks forward to the next hurdle against Durban South at Isipingo Beach grounds. They urge supporters to stand behind the team.
