A woman security officer was shot and her firearm stolen at Isipingo Beach at about noon on Tuesday, 9 May.
According to Netcare 911 media liaison officer, Chris Botha, the woman in her 30s is believed to be contracted to eThekwini Municipality.
“She was in an eThekwini vehicle when she was attacked by an unknown number of people in the vicinity of the hotel,” said Botha.
“She was shot in her arm and the bullet continued into her chest. She was treated at the scene and was in a serious but stable condition. She was transported to hospital under the care of an advanced support paramedic.”
Her attackers took only her firearm and fled, which is suspected to be the motive for the attack.
