Police on patrol this Easter

The operation began on the beaches of Amanzimtoti and Isipingo.

Beware – the police are out in full force these Easter holidays.

Acting eThekwini outer south cluster commander, Brigadier GS Singh gathered his members and deployed them in and all around in the cluster to ensure a high police presence during the break-up of schools for the Easter holidays.

He held a multi-disciplinary operation focusing on the areas of Isipingo, KwaMakhutha, Amanzimtoti, Folweni, Umbumbulu, Umkomaas, Umlazi and Bhekithemba.

“The operation began on the beaches of Amanzimtoti and Isipingo, where scholars began their celebrations of break-up day,” said Amanzimtoti SAPS communication officer, Captain Charlene van der Spuy.

“The operation involved teamwork between Metro Police, the eThekwini outer cluster vispol team, Umlazi K9 Unit and Isipingo SAPS.

Members were instructed to conduct vehicle check points, stop and searches, and foot patrols. They were positioned on the ground to show high police visibility and to help the communities of the outer south cluster to feel safer during this festive period.

Brig Singh and his officers are committed to address crime in the eThekwini outer south area during Easter and his team of crime fighters are ready to do the job with joint efforts of good police partnerships.”
