Seven wave-makers swim personal bests at champs

Kate Andersson won a silver medal for girls 11 year 50m butterfly and one of her times was a level three entry.

SEVEN children from Aqua Swimming Academy in Winklespruit took part in the level one and two KZN Aquatics Championships from 24 to 26 February.

They all did extremely well as they all swam personal bests (PBs) in all their events.

Level two

Kate Andersson won a silver medal for girls 11 year 50m butterfly and one of her times was a level three entry.

Level one

Mia Matthews won a silver medal for girls 12 years 50m breaststroke. Jason Maree won a bronze medal for boys 12 years 50m freestyle.

Matthew Maree won six gold medals for boys 10 years 50m freestyle, 100m freestyle, 50m backstroke, 100m backstroke, 50m breaststroke and 200m individual medley, and three of his times were level two entry.

Cayci Botha won four gold medals for girls 9 years 50m freestyle, 100m freestyle, 100m backstroke and 200m individual medley and two silver medals for 50m backstroke and 50m breaststroke.

Dylan Gander in boys 9 years and Theuns Badenhorst in 15 and over, also swam very well, and finished in the top eight of their age groups in all their races.
