Feast on writing festival’s fruits

The festival will make a stop at the Amanzimtoti library on Friday morning, 17 March from 10am to 1pm.

A FEAST of literary offerings from Africa and the world will be showcased at this year’s 20th Time of the Writer International Festival, set to take place from 13 to 18 March.

The festival will make a stop at the Amanzimtoti library on Friday morning, 17 March from 10am to 1pm.

The Festival, hosted by the Centre of Creative Art (CCA) within UKZN’s College of Humanities, will feature some of the country’s most prolific writers. This year’s festival themed ‘the past paving the future’, will pay tribute to the century after the sinking of the SS Mendi and will also see the historic launch of the original isiZulu version of late Professor Mazizi Kunene’s ‘uNodumehlezi kaMenzi’.

Participating writers include Bronwyn Law-Viljoen, Dale McKinley, EKM Dido, Folu Agoi, Fred Khumalo, Khethani Njoko, Lidudumalingani Mqombothi, Megan Ross, Nakanjani Sibiya, Nkosinathi Sithole, Nomsa Mdlalose, Ralph Mathekga, Sabata-Mpho Mokae, Sibongile Fisher, Unathi Magubeni, Usha Roopnarain and Zakes Mda. Those who are passionate about the artistic expressions of Africa’s history, will not want to let this event pass them by.
