Lucky week for WBC’s Eddie

The winners of the men’s Tops trips played on Thursday were Mike Kruger, Brian Pasfield and Bill Hobbs.

OVERALL winners of the women’s Caltex trips which was played on Wednesday, 8 March at Winklespruit Bowling Club (WBC) were Joan van Rensberg, Vera Broskie and Carole Glaves.

Second session was taken by Lou Lou Bingham, Sylveigh Ananiadis and Trish Farmer.

Winner of the 100 board was Estelle van der Merwe and the mystery prize was won by Sue Welch.

Mike Kruger beat Allan Duncan in the first leg of the Winkle men’s single championship. It was a very close game which could have gone to either player.

Winners of the men’s Tops trips played on Thursday were Mike Kruger, Brian Pasfield and Bill Hobbs. Second session winners were Eddie Bingham, Adrian Morrison and Mac Mackrory. Reg Behr won the 100 board.

In the first leg of the men’s nominated trips Eddie Bingham, Adrian Morrison and Cedric Kruger were victorious over Mike Kruger, Steve Evenwel and Brian Cox.

The attendance draw winner on Friday evening was Elaine Critchlow. As she was not present, it is a carry over. Adrian Morrison won the wheel of fortune.

The Les John mixed 2-4-2 was played on Saturday, 11 March where overall winners were Eddie and Lou Lou Bingham. Andre Gelderblom and Norma Raath won the second session and Mac and Joyce Mackrory won first session. Eddie Bingham won the 100 board.

A friendly competition was held between the Winkle members and the touring UK bowlers on Tuesday, 7 March. Everyone had an enjoyable game and enjoyed the light-hearted atmosphere.

A Friday evening meal was once again well attended and thoroughly enjoyed, with more than enough left over for seconds. WBC thanks Trish Farmer for preparing the delicious meal and Elmarie Young for making the scrumptious pudding.

There will be night bowls this Friday evening with a bring and braai afterwards. Indicate on the notice board, before Friday, if you will be playing. Take note bowls will start at 5pm for 5.30pm.

Social bowls will be played on Wednesday afternoon. There will be no social bowls this Friday due to the night bowls. Note the starting time for Wednesday social bowls is 2.30pm for 3pm.

The Clearwater Spur 2-4-2 will not be played on Saturday due to the Sezela competition this weekend.

Members playing in the Sezela competition are reminded that the competition will be played on Sunday, 19 March.

The club’s prayers and thoughts are with members who are not well. They are wished a speedy recovery.
