Ejected motorist dies in N2 crash

A motorist died after being ejected from his vehicle this afternoon, Wednesday afternoon just after 5pm.The southbound carriageway from the top of Twini Hill gridlocked when the car travelling northbound veered off the roadway and overturned.

Its twisted frame came to rest in the centre median. Police will investigate the cause of the crash.

Netcare 911 paramedics found that the driver, a man from the DRC, had been ejected and was lying in the slow lane of the southbound carriageway. He had died before the paramedics’ arrival due to the extensive injuries he sustained. Three other people were injured in the crash, one seriously, while two others escaped with minor injuries.

Paramedics treated the injured at the scene before they transported them to a nearby hospital for the care they required.
