Catch all the Winkle-Toti-Winkle action
THE big day is finally here – the annual Winkle Toti Winkle Ski Race and Beach Run takes place this Friday, 16 December at 9am at Winklespruit main beach.
The race comprises of either a ski paddle or run to Toti and back or a shorter course run or walk to Warners and back on the beach.
As is tradition, there are cash prizes for the winners as well as many lucky draw prizes for the rest of the competitors. Food and drink will also be on sale at the club and all funds raised go towards rescue equipment and getting members to competitions. There will also be some fun events on the beach for the children. It’s really a great fun day for the whole family so get down to Winklespruit Beach on Friday and join in the fun.
This past weekend saw the nippers have their Christmas party and sleepover. Despite the weather, everyone had fun and enjoyed the occasion. Rumour has it that Santa will be going on a diet, as his Santa suit did not fit him. Rumour also has it that the nipper trainers took big strain on Sunday after being on duty into the early hours of Sunday morning. It was great to see the children in the sea by 6am on Sunday. Many thanks to all who helped and made the evening really enjoyable.
The JLA/LA and IRB classes continue each week as does club training with Dean Marais.
