Motorist shot twice outside her home

No items or valuables were taken by the shooter.

An Isipingo Hills resident was shot twice while in her vehicle outside her home in Keerath Road on Tuesday afternoon, 8 November.

An Alpha Alarms tactical supervisor raced to the scene after receiving a call for assistance at about 4.45pm.

Witnesses pointed out the runaway suspect and a chase ensued, but the armed man fled into the crowded taxi rank in the vicinity of Pardy Road and escaped.

Metro Police responded quickly to the scene, where the woman was slumped over in her vehicle.

“The officer returned to the scene and reported that the passenger side window had to be broken to gain access to the victim,” said Alpha Alarms communications officer, Krishnee Naidoo.

The woman had sustained a bullet wound to her upper arm and one to her chest. She was rushed to hospital and is believed to be in a stable condition.

Isipingo SAPS members also responded. No items or valuables were taken by the shooter.

No arrests have been made and the motive for the shooting is unknown at this stage.
Isipingo SAPS are investigating an attempted murder case.
