Man stabbed in head, chest

He sustained a stab wound to the head and chest close to his heart.

A man was stabbed and robbed of his wallet and cellphone on the corner of Jooma and Gokul roads in Isipingo on Sunday morning, 23 October.

An Alpha Alarms tactical unit officer who was patrolling in the area noticed three men who appeared to be attacking the man.

When he approached the scene, the three men fled into nearby bushes.

“The officer noticed the victim bleeding profusely on the pavement after he had sustained a stab wound to the head and chest close to his heart,” said Alpha Alarms communications officer, Krishnee Naidoo.

“He immediately applied compression to the wounds after requesting our control room to dispatch SAPS members and emergency services.”

Both police and paramedics responded quickly. The victim was stabilised and transported to hospital in a serious condition.
