Hijacking alert follows Worlds View crime

If you cannot see the occupants in the vehicle following you, rather drive past your premises.

Toti residents are warned to be vigilant after a hijacking on Worlds View Road on Friday night, 7 October at about 8pm.

“We warn residents to be cautious,” said CCPO committee member, George Snodey.

“If you cannot see the occupants in the vehicle following you, rather drive past your premises and don’t stop at your gate while it is opening.

Alternatively phone ahead for someone to have your gate open when you arrive.”

Snodey also warns resident not to leave their car keys or other valuables in plain sight.

In the early hours of Wednesday morning, 5 October two cars were stolen from a block of flats on Kingsway in Amanzimtoti.

The thieves entered a flat and stole the car keys for a Ford Ranger and Ford Laser. According to the tracking information, the Ford Ranger was taken at 2am.

“Don’t think that because you live in a complex or block of flats, it excludes you from possibly being broken into,” said Snodey.

“Ensure your valuables such as car keys and laptops are concealed at all times.”
