Band grateful for fundraiser support

But we had forgotten that we are in KZN and this is a die-hard community of lovely, tough people.

EDITOR – Well here we are, after months of planning and stressing and working hard, the long-awaited golf day fundraiser which took place on Friday, 9 September at Amanzimtoti Golf Club is behind us.

And what a day it was – we woke up to a blustery overcast day with threats of rainy bad weather, and were rather disappointed as all the planning and work was about to be a wash out.

But we had forgotten that we are in KZN and this is a die-hard community of lovely, tough people. Our golfers arrived and ventured out, they did not abandon the green. And later, under the thatched lapa, the show went on – pyrotechnics and all.

Sincere thanks go to the following:

Simon from Pan Africa; Mike McGregor for saving the equipment from the rain; Hennie from Illovo Builders for being our speaker, and for his awesome donations; Alan at Warner Beach KwikSpar, Sean and Pam from Memories; Brian at E-Cig Inn in Doonside; Kirk at Shoreline Marine and Car Wash; Dave from Spectool and Die; Gerry Motley: Brad at Holdfast Tattoo; Halfway Malanda for the vehicle displays; Makro at Arbour Crossing; Martin at T8 Holdings; Keith and Carol at 7th Heaven Beds; John Dory; Audiolite and Beatus Production; Durban South Toyota; The Edward Hotel; McCarthy Kingsmead; Sean at UTH Body; CMH Umhlanga; Ian at Booths Bottle Store; Lords and Legends; Lawrence from Cracker Bay B&B; Trevor at Wilson Print; Amanda at New Born Distribution; CGI Party Planners; Mark at Iron Candy Tattoos; Sound Stylist’s Kevin for the stage and trusses; Markus from KosmiKFead; Mark Louw; James Ellis; Adri Dean and Dwayne and to Brian and staff at Amanzimtoti Golf Club.

We’re overwhelmed by the kindness of our community. Thanks once again to all who attended. While it was not quite as many as we had hoped for, an awesome time was had by all who ventured out in the inclement weather. Fantastic prizes were won and there were many happy smiling faces around.

To the golfers, the business and private people who donated the prizes and cash, and all who helped in any way, we salute you all.
