Model notches up another title win

Giselle was named a finalist in the Miss Mini SA pageant for next year.

Local beauty Giselle du Plessis (12) was crowned Pageant SA Pre-Teen at the PLG Modelling Academy in Ballito on Saturday, 10 September.

She also won Miss Ambassador KZN at Rain Farm in Ballito on 28 August and was named a finalist in the Miss Mini SA pageant for next year.

“I was very happy to win the SA Pre-Teen,” said the young Simply Models member, who has only been strutting her stuff for a year.

“I was shocked to win Miss Ambassador KZN, as I competed against the Miss RSA Junior and Miss SA Junior winners and I didn’t expect to win.

I always wanted to be a model and I enjoy participating in pageants and making new friends. Some of my friends model with me.”

She may be new to the catwalk but the young model is fast racking up titles on her CV. This year alone she has won Miss Amanzimtoti 2016 Pre-Teen at the Weaver Conference Centre in March, Miss Junior Highland at the Highland Gathering, Miss Valentine at the Weaver Conference Centre and Miss Fur Ever Pet 2016 in Ballito.

She was second princess at Miss Petite Charity KZN at Glenwood, Totally Beachin on the Bluff, and Miss Pre-Teen Winter Royalty last year.

Giselle is a grade 6 pupil at Kuswag. She also participates in netball, swimming, athletics, cross-country and ringball. Last year she was selected for the KZN ringball team.

“I want to go all the way with my modelling, right up to Miss SA and even Miss Universe,” said Giselle.
