Masked mischief for 21 Club’s Women’s Month lunch

Both guest speakers came across as passionate about what they do and they certainly provided fascinating Women’s Month entertainment, not to mention food for thought, for 21 Club.

THE typical demure cameo woman was the focus of the decor at 21 Club’s Women’s Month luncheon.

Included on the wine bottle centrepieces, the hearts on the tables and even the serviettes, anyone would have expected it to be a lovely, tranquil affair.

Anything but! Throw in compulsory masks and the sense of mystery creeps in and results in lots of fun.

Lords and Legends spoilt members with roast pork and trimmings and delicious chocolate brownies and cream. Many thanks to Garth.

The guest speakers were an inspiration for anyone who would prefer not to wear a mask but to look younger and more beautiful – of course, at a price.

Denise Kleinhans of Lashes Laser Beauty Clinic, who hails from Pretoria, has been in Amanzimtoti for three years. Catherine Lokker of Meticulous Beauty Clinic in Warner Beach hails from the Eastern Cape and has lived in the area for nearly six years.

Both guest speakers came across as passionate about what they do and they certainly provided fascinating Women’s Month entertainment, not to mention food for thought, for 21 Club. Many thanks to Catherine and Denise for their generous lucky draw donations. Eileen Smith and Lys MacDonald were the happy recipients.

Sadly two members resigned this month. Sheila Booysen is moving down the coast and has also not been well and Wendy Crofton is working full time again. Both have been assured they will always be welcome to attend as guests. New members, Fay Tracey and Joan Dawson, were welcomed.

The next luncheon will be held on Wednesday, 28 September. This will be a ‘butterfly day’ to celebrate Spring. The 21 Club is delighted to host Keely Crocker, Kingsway High’s young songbird.

Members are reminded that confirmation of intention to attend or not, and names of guests, must be received by any of the following committee members by Friday, 23 September: Lyn on 082-572-1328 or 031-903-4026 or Golda on 083-633-6338 or 031-916-7001. Unfortunately, guests can only be accommodated if there is room and they must be invited by a member.
