Death of Selma Crous

Selma was the Amanzimtoti Tennis Club champion in her day.

Selma Crous (nee Aucamp) died after suffering a heart attack on Tuesday, 2 August at the age of 77.

Selma was born in Germiston in 1939, but lived in Amanzimtoti for the past 50 years.

She was the Amanzimtoti Tennis Club champion in her day. “My mom was active almost to the end, doing yoga and swimming,” said her daughter Lizelle Vermeulen.

Selma’s passion was her koi fish and her garden, which was always a lush showpiece.

She was the widow of Henry Crous who worked for the Rapport Sunday newspaper.

She is survived by her children Karla, Henk and Lizelle, grandchildren Bianca and Henri, and great-grandchildren Jacques and Alicia.

“She was loved and will be missed – rest in peace mom,” said Lizelle.
