CCPO rings in the changes

The committee has called a special annual general meeting on Tuesday, 30 August at 5.30pm at Amanzimtoti Civic Centre.

THERE have been a number of changes at Community Crime Prevention Organisation (CCPO) recently.

The guarding contract between the CCPO and JTS which was managed by Shaun Chislett was ended by the CCPO committee.

“This was carried out due to JTS not complying with the necessary legal requirements, which placed the CCPO at high risk,” said CCPO chairman, George Lithgow.

“The committee had asked Shaun on numerous occasions to provide the necessary documentation which was not forthcoming.

We decided to go with a local company which is reputable in the area, namely ET Rapid Response.”

ET Rapid Response took over the guards from Monday, 1 August on a month-to-month basis.

CCPO operations manager, Leon Joone has parted ways with the crime-fighting organisation. “With regards to Leon, the committee came to agreement with him on a voluntary settlement in terminating his contract,” said Lithgow.

The position will be managed by the competent ops team of George Ross, Rob Mills, Paul O’Neill and George Snodey.

The committee has called a special annual general meeting on Tuesday, 30 August at 5.30pm at Amanzimtoti Civic Centre. “The meeting has been called as independent chartered accountant Willie Schultz who carried out an independent audit will be available to ask questions regarding his findings relating to the CCPO. We appeal to the community to get involved in this non-profit community project by joining the CCPO,” said Lithgow.
