AAC gears up to host cross country champs

Saturdays there is an 11km run and walk from the clubhouse at 5.30am for walkers and 6am for runners. Tea, coffee and biscuits are served afterwards.

AMANZIMTOTI Athletics Club congratulates everyone who took part in the Totalsports women’s race on Sunday.

10km: W Gibson 52.48 , J D’Oliveira 52.52, J Momberg 53.21, T Castle 58.33, C Raash 58.34, G Hall 60.19, L Botha 62.32, I Bohmer 71.50 (walker 10km ) J-Ann Kruger 74.17, C Brown 93.11 (walker 10km).

Upcoming races: 7 August: Women in Action Chatsworth Stadium 10/5km run and walk starts at 8am.

14 August: Supa Mama Savages 21km run and 10km run and walk with pre-entry, starts at 6.30am at Savages Athletic Club.

Entries for the Goss and Balfe Sapphire Coast Marathon on 16 October are open. Cloaing date for this pre-entry race is 8 October.

Club members cannot take part in race. A helpers run will take place where members can use their times as a Two Oceans and Comrades qualifier.

Amanzimtoti AC will host the KZN cross country champs on 13 August at Hutchison Park. The club expects 600 athletes to be taking part. Currently the club is gearing up to take on this huge challenge. The club is known to have one of the best cross country courses in KZN and is honoured to bring this to Amanzimtoti.

Note that reflective belts are mandatory for time trials.

Weekly time trials are on Wednesdays at 5.30pm for walkers and runners at 6pm (both over 4km and 8km). Visitors are always welcome to join. Meet at the clubhouse at Hutchison Park. On Saturdays there is an 11km run and walk from the clubhouse at 5.30am for walkers and 6am for runners. Tea, coffee and biscuits are served afterwards.
