Help Bobbi Bear’s vulnerable children

It is our humble appeal for the community to please get involved and assist us to continue our valuable projects

OPERATION Bobbi Bear appeals to the community to help with much-needed donations.

“Bobbi Bear, like most charities in our country, is feeling the pinch in these tough economic times,” said the NPO’s Eureka Olivier.

“With more and more businesses closing down, we are not receiving the donations that enable us to keep projects running in our community.”

Every Saturday the NPO runs a support group for vulnerable children that it has assisted over the years. Their challenges include HIV/Aids, rape, physical and emotional abuse, extreme poverty and child-headed homes, among many others.

“We meet these children under ‘the tree’ every Saturday morning to assist them with some of the social issues they face,” said Eureka. “It gives them one morning a week where they can be children, to play, sing and interact with people that care, and it allows them to forget their problems for a few hours. We accommodate up to 250 children every Saturday at the ‘free clinic’.

It is our humble appeal for the community to please get involved and assist us to continue our valuable projects.”

The NPO needs 60 people to commit to donate one loaf of bread on a Friday. It also needs margarine, peanut butter, jam and juice. Second-hand clothes, shoes, toys, blankets, crockery, cutlery, curtains, or anything needed by a house with children would be appreciated.

“We are currently taking care of an orphaned mentally and physically disabled child whose mother died last week. We are in desperate need of adult nappies (medium) for her, but anything to help her will be appreciated. Monetary donations are also welcome for us to keep these projects alive and strong,” said Eureka.
