Night bowls finally played at WBC

The Steve Evenwel nominated mixed 2-4-2 will be held on Sunday, 13 March – see list on the club notice board.

THE long-awaited Winklespruit Bowling Club (WBC) night bowls was played on Friday, 4 March and it was a great evening that was enjoyed by all.

The Winkle BC committee thanks Eddie Bingham and Greg Dickason for their hard work on the lights.

Lo-Ann and Steve Evenwel cooked a mouth-watering lasagne and Mike Kruger sponsored the pudding. Unfortunately Lo-Ann fell ill and had to abandon her game. Overall winners were Alan Raubenheimer and Freddy Hetterscheidt, second session winners were Mike Kruger, Di Kruger and Doug Tinkler.

The attendance draw was not claimed, so it is yet another carry over.

The KwikSpar women’s trips was played on Thursday, 3 March. Overall winners were Julie Sutherland, Amanda Ninow and Marie van der Walt. First session winners were Heather Brown, Jackie Holdrick and Linda McGregor. Second session was won by Pamela C Royal, Jeanette Els and Sue Welch. The 100 board winner was Amanda Ninow.

The Winkle BC committee thanks Eddie Bingham, Alan Raubenheimer, Brian Pasfield and Innocent Ndlovu for their help and dedication with the green maintenance which took place on Monday, 7 March.

Diarise social bowls on Wednesday and Thursday afternoon , with tabs in 2.15pm for 2.30pm. On Friday, 11 March, boerewors rolls will be on sale after the social game at a cost of R15.

Birthday wishes go out to Mike Kruger and Lionel Bruce for this month. A speedy recovery to all those who are not well. The club’s prayers and thoughts are with you all. Good bowling to all this week.
