TWO brazen robbers overpowered and robbed a young samoosa vendor of his stock on Seebo Road in Isipingo Rail on Wednesday, 17 February.
“An alert resident witnessed the robbery and contacted an armed response officer,” said Alpha Alarms communications officer, Krishnee Naidoo.
The robbers fled with the containers of samoosas and were pursued by the officer on Seebo Road. Spotting the pursuing officer, they dropped the containers and fled into a scrapyard.
“Bystanders at the scrapyard ignored the officer’s call to halt the fleeing robbers and despite his efforts, they managed to make a clean getaway through the local Metro Police yard.
The vendor was shocked, but grateful to the officer for returning his stock to him.”
