Winkle bowlers celebrate Valentines Day

THE overall winners for the Caltex Warner Beach women’s twinkle trips played at Winklespruit Bowling Club on Wednesday, 10 February were Joyce Mackrory, Elmarie Young and Piet Du Toit.
Second session went to Heather Brown, Joan van Rensburg and Vera Broskie.
Di Kruger was the winner of the 100 board.
On Thursday, 11 February the Kwik Spar men’s trips was played and overall winners were Ian Crouch, Duncan Wright and Dave Gardner. The second session winners were Steve Evenwel, Gerhard Hofmann and Dries Snyman. Les John won the 100 board.
Gert Richter won the attendance draw on Friday, 12 February. Due to him not being present, the attendance draw will carry over.
The Steve Evenwel mixed 2-4-2 was played on Sunday. The club thanks Steve and Loanne for giving all women present a Valentine’s gift. The overall position was taken by Errol and Sharon-Ann Theron. First session winners were Mike and Di Kruger. Second session was won by Steve and Loanne Evenwel. The 100 board winner was won by Di Kruger. Most fun on the green was won by Brian and Trish Farmer.
The club thanks Lionel Bruce for standing in as barman as all committee members were playing in the Steve Evenwel mixed 2-4-2. He also had an extra workload with the ex-British South African Police who were having a get-together at the club.

Night bowls will be played on Friday, 26 February starting at 5pm. All bowlers and non-bowlers are welcome. Cost for the game is R10 for members and R15 for non-members. There will be a meal available at a slight cost. The list is on the notice board, indicate if you are interested.
Take note that the monthly boot sale will take place on Saturday, 27 February. For the hungry, there will be wors rolls and pancakes available.
Scroungers is going to be played on Saturday, 5 March at 8,30am for 9am. The competition can only accommodate 18 bowlers, so put your names on the list on the notice board to ensure you are included in this fun game.
Take note that the starting time for Wednesday and Friday social bowls is 2.15pm for 2.30pm, until further notice.
