Head to the beach!

Music lovers can head to the Mnini Dam Jazz Picnic on 26 and 27 December.

The Sapphire Coast holiday campaign kicks off at Amanzimtoti main beach from Thursday, 17 December to welcome holidaymakers to our shores this festive season.

“Featuring KFC Strandiens, the campaign will run until Thursday, 31 December with music by a local DJ, touch rugby, puppet shows, tug o war, volleyball, talent competitions and other beach games every day from 9am to 1pm,” said Sapphire Coast Tourism (SCT) chairman, Kim McCarthy.

“There will also be airbrush painting and temporary tattooing at Amanzimtoti main beach, Warner beach and Winklespruit beach until 6 January.”

Art lovers can browse through the Amanzimtoti art exhibition, which takes place at 305 Ipahla Road Guest House from 17 to 24 December between the hours on 9am and 5pm. It’s action galore when the Amanzimtoti Summer Spirit revs up at Amanzimtoti main beach from 17 to 20 December, featuring a jet ski festival, top surfers in action plus beach activities, and jet ski and surfing trials. For more information, contact Phindani Nene on 071-647-1532.

If you’ve always wanted to learn how to ride the waves, head to Smith’s Surf School at Amanzimtoti main beach from 17 to 31 December with surf and safety, warm-up and prone lessons, stand up and surfing. For more information, contact Wesley Smith on 082-802-1349.

The Big Nite Out Productions activations, featuring body lotion product sampling, beach ball giveaways and water product sampling hits Amanzimtoti main beach on Friday, 18 December. For more information, contact Ryan James on 031-903-7498.

The Tizozo Sport Against Crime Festival takes place at Mnini sports field in Umgababa on Saturday, 19 December, with prizegiving at Umgababa main beach.
