IF you are looking for a four-legged friend to add to your family, go along to Toti SPCA’s final adoption day of the year on Saturday, 28 November from 9am to noon.

“We encourage the public to visit us at 1 Nyati Road, Athlone Park and have a look at our lovely animals up for adoption. The volunteer dog walkers will be here to assist with any queries,” said Toti SPCA PRO Michelle Hannan.

Tasty breakfast rolls and cold drinks will be on sale. “Browse in our shop and get your Christmas shopping done early.

You may adopt an animal upon a property inspection done by the SPCA.

Toti SPCA will only re-home an animal within its area of operation, which is from the Umlaas Canal in the north, to Hibberdene in the south.

Adoption fees include the first vaccinations of the animal; de-worming and compulsory sterilisation of all male and female dogs and cats.

After the adoption process has been completed, the owner is responsible for annual vaccinations and any veterinary treatment that may be required.

It is a privilege and not a right to own an animal. Your new pet will be your responsibility to care for, for the rest of its life, which could be between 10 to 15 years or more.
