A woman travelling on the N2 past Umgababa on Monday night fell victim to robbers who placed rocks on the freeway to stop motorists.
Netcare 911 paramedics received a call about an accident on the N2 southbound at Umgababa.
They found a woman motorist travelling to Umkomaas had hit rocks placed by robbers across the roadway, about 400 metres before the Umgababa off-ramp. Her car spun out and came to rest in the veld. Three men confronted and robbed her of her belongings.
Netcare 911 paramedics found her very traumatised at the roadside. They treated and transported her to an Amanzimtoti hospital.
