Second place for Toti women golfers in South Coast league

The women league team travelled down to Southbroom on Sunday to play in the final league game of the year.

AMANZIMTOTI Golf Club greens have recovered from Spring treatment and are once again looking good.

Thanks to everyone for their patience during this necessary annual course maintenance.

On Wednesday’s midweek individual points stableford competition, Nico Vogel ran away from the rest of the field managing to score 44 points even with a blackout on the 18th to claim first place, N Dupont came in second with 39 points and P Stevenson third with 35 points.

Toti had 29 players competing in Friday’s 9 hole Sundowner competition with J Roux winning on 23 points, B Govender came second on 21 points and winning the count out into third on 20 points was A Sewath.

Saturday’s fourball betterball stableford men’s competition proved to be a close game. Winning on the day was the pairing of M McGregor and R Wilson counting out the pairing of P Wallace and H Odendaal into second and the pairing of N Vogel and M Van Wyk into third all on 46 points. Nearest the pin on the seventh was achieved by C Scorer and on the 15th by W van Wyk.

The women played individual points stableford with Lynette Roodt winning the day on 40 points, Ina De Boer came second on 39 points with Sue Boucher third on 36 points. Nearest the pin on the seventh was achieved by Atri Wilson with both Brenda Morgan and Colleen Smith achieving two clubs on the same hole.

The club held its annual South Coast classic day on Sunday, thanks to everyone who took part in this fun day. The winners were the pairing of Mike Tait and Martin Tait on 48 points and close on their heels was the husband and wife pairing of Cecil and Gerda Heydenrych on 47 points.

The women’s league team travelled to Southbroom on Sunday to play in the final league game of the year. Toti needed to beat Port Shepstone to win the league, but came up against a strong Port Shepstone team who played exceptional golf to beat our team. Well done to the Toti women for coming second in the 2015 South Coast Region league.
