Pupils hurt in rear-end taxi crash

Taxi driver allegedly flees scene with vehicle number plate

A taxi driver allegedly grabbed his number plate and fled the scene of an accident in which two Scottburgh pupils were injured along the N2 south  between Mtwalumi and Hibberdene  on Friday  evening, 28 August.

Reports from the scene indicate that a car rear-ended a taxi.

Netcare 911 paramedics found the vehicles at the side of the roadway.

According to patients being treated, the taxi driver had fled the scene with his vehicle’s number plate. After triaging, medics found two Scottburgh High School pupils had sustained serious injuries and they were treated and transported to a nearby hospital.
