Sipho set to flex for KZN team

Sipho has made the KZN team that will compete at the SA champs in Sandton.

A Toti bodybuilder’s passion for the sport has seen him scoop second place in the U70kg lightweight division at the KZN champs at the Playhouse on Saturday, 22 August.

Sipho Ngidi (33) has been body building for five years after being advised to while gyming.

“A guy said I should join, so I did,” he said. “I enjoy competing and really enjoyed coming second on Saturday.”

Sipho has now made the KZN team, who will flex their muscles at the SA champs in Sandton, Johannesburg from 4 to 6 September.

“I think I have a good chance at the champs, as I’m in good form at the moment,” he said.

“I hope to finish in the top three at least. I will train very hard in the next week.”

The Felekisi resident trains one-and-a-half to two hours a day, five days a week.

His diet consists of oats in the morning, basmati rice, chicken or fish.

“I need to lose about 4kg before the champs, so for the next week I will cut out all starches and do lots of cardio to lose water retention.”

With no sponsor, Sipho admits his sport can be expensive. If you would like to sponsor him, contact Sipho on 071-217-6164.
