FRIDAY, 24 JULY: SAARP’s next outing is a social get-together and breakfast at Spur on Toti beachfront. All are welcome. For queries call Maureen on 031-903-4182 or 082-436-9281 or in the evenings call Evadne on 031-903-3697 or 083-731-1332.

SATURDAY, 25 JULY: Lords and Legends hosts a potjiekos competition and family fun day at Hutchison Park from 10am until 5pm. Proceeds will be donated to Amanzimtoti SPCA. If you think you make the best potjie, get your entry form in. Entry fee is R50 per pot. First prize R1,000 and second prize R500.

SATURDAY, 25 JULY: Kingsburgh Lions Club car boot sale at Winklespruit Bowling Club in Gus Brown Road is from 7am until noon. All welcome.

Sellers can book a table with Sandy on 082-466-6380. Pancakes, boerie rolls, coffee and bar will be available.

SUNDAY, 26 JULY: Toti Ramblers will meet at Lords at 7.45am to walk or cycle from Ushaka to Sun Coast Casino and back, with breakfast at Spur Ushaka afterwards.

Cycles can be hired at R50 an hour or take your own. Call Wendy on 083-352-6457.

SUNDAY, 26 JULY: Camino de Santiago pilgrims both past and present can join in the St James Feast Day celebrations at St Dominic’s Catholic Church, 1 Mill Road in Hillcrest at 11am. A R10 donation is requested. Besides a plate of food to share, take your own drinks, plate and cutlery. If you are walking a Camino soon, take your backpacks for Fr Brian’s blessing. FRIDAY, 31 JULY: Toti SPCA hosts its second Christmas in July with a dinner at Lords and Legends. Tickets are R150 per person with a cash bar available. There 100 tickets to be sold, so pop into their offices at 1 Nyati Road, Athlone Park or call 031-904-2424/5 to make your booking via EFT. This get-together celebrates the animals that give people so much love and joy. The idea is to buy a toy or blanket for the animals in their care for Christmas.

TUESDAY, 28 JULY: SAARP Toti seniors bring and share tea morning in the activities room, Toti library at 9.30am for 10am. For enquiries contact Gill on 082-615-7708 or on 031-903-7445.

FRIDAY, 31 JULY: Probus Amanzimtoti Social Club monthly meeting at 9.20am for 10am in the safe, beautiful, and tranquil surroundings of the Umbogavango Nature Reserve. Regret that no pets are allowed in the park. Visitors and members are kindly requested to take their own cups, meat, salads, and refreshments for a bring-and-braai after the meeting. Interested visitors are asked to call Sharon-Ann on 083-312-5360 by Wednesday, 29 July at the very latest, as to gain entrance to the nature reserve the gate security will first check your name against their security list.

MONDAY, 3 AUGUST: Kingsburgh Lions meeting is held on the second Monday of each month at the St Mary’s Church hall, Warner Beach at 2.30pm.

SATURDAY, 8 AUGUST: Umzinto Secondary School class of 1985 holds a 30-year reunion celebration at a local venue.

SATURDAY, 8 AUGUST: Under the Tree Pre-Primary School hosts a family fun day and craft market in aid of Kingsburgh Child and Family Welfare Society at Wavecrest Holiday Resort, opposite Illovo Nursery in Elizabeth Avenue in Illovo Beach. Gates open at 10am and fun activities continue until 4pm. It is open to the public and there is no entrance fee. If you have arts and crafts to sell, or any interesting items, contact Esta on 082-307-4685. Tables cost R100 each.

WEDNESDAY, 26 AUGUST: Lodge Donoughmore meets at 4pm. Anyone interested in attending, call John Hamilton on 083-229-5821.
