Speed limits in suburbs for a reason

I hope the culprit reads this and every night when he goes to bed, remembers the name Caleb as the cat we had to bury.

EDITOR – People drive like idiots and take no care about anyone else in the road.

I have been staying on the corner of Adelaide and World View Close for many years.

I hear how people speed up and down the road and am always scared for the children who ride their bikes in the road because an accident can happen so quickly.

Sadly, on the morning of 8 July, one such idiot did not even bother to stop after hitting my gorgeous cat, Caleb. Shame on you. It is disgusting – how can you drive if you can’t see a big cat of almost 6kgs? How fast were you driving that my husband heard the bang in the kitchen and found our cat on the verge of our garden? If you can’t see where you drive or can’t brake because you are going so fast, you should not be on the road.

There are speed limits in residential areas for a reason.

I hope the culprit reads this and every night when he goes to bed, remembers the name Caleb as the cat we had to bury.

For some they are only pets but to us, he was our baby after he and his sister were dumped in my garden one stormy night. When we found them, he fitted in my hand. No matter how many other animals we do have, not one of them will ever replace the void left in our hearts by the loss of Caleb.

SHAME ON YOU
