Second recipient receives wheelchair

To get someone on the wishlist, email Mark White Nissan Amanzimtoti marketing executive, Carol Mathews at carol@mwntoti.co.za.

A second Toti recipient received a new wheelchair from the Buy a Ride, Give Them Wheels campaign on Friday, 26 June.

Rene Otto (86), who moved to Toti from Mossel Bay three months ago to live with her daughter, Dricky Myburgh after she broke her hip, was selected from the campaign’s wish list.

Mark White Nissan Amanzimtoti started the campaign in April, where a percentage is put aside for the wheelchair foundation from any vehicle sold from the dealership.

“I am old and I appreciate the new wheelchair very much. “You make me feel young again,” said Rene at the handover.

“My mother was just lying in bed all day after she broke her hip,” said Dricky. “She couldn’t go out into the garden or to the shops with me. This donation is life-changing for her.”

Six-year-old Mekayla, a charge of Operation Bobbi Bear, was the first recipient of the campaign.

The public is welcome to contribute to the campaign and contact the dealership if they know someone in the community who is in need of a wheelchair.
