Craft market hosts children’s talent show

Each child has three minutes to perform.

ESSENWOOD Craft Market – one of the region’s pioneer arts, craft, fashion, gifts, food and collectables markets – is initiating a fun talent competition for the littlies over the next two Saturdays, with the finals on 27 June.

The Essenwood’s Got Talent show is open to children from three to five-years-old; six to 10-years-old and 11 to 13-years-old.
Heats are on Saturday, 13 June and Saturday, 20 June, with the finals on Saturday, 27 June.

Registration is from 9am to10am and the talent show heat is from 10am to 11am. There is no entry fee. Each child has three minutes to showcase his or her talent.If children want to sing, there are various songs on the playlist. Some of the popular options are Happy; All About the Bass; Snowman (from Frozen); Coronation Day (from Frozen) and Let it Go.
The top performers will be invited back to the finals on Saturday, 27 June at 10am.

The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
“We want to ensure that the market’s focus is firmly family-friendly. We are situated in a park environment with a functioning play area which is perfect for children to run around. There are
also creative projects for children to enjoy, sand-art; face-mask making; biscuit and cupcake icing; beading and crafts. To complement this, we have a shaded supervised play area for the little ones, free pony rides, and feature weekly child-focused activities, be it fire-engine rides; fair-ground attractions; face-painting and children’s games,” said the market’s Cyan Brown.

Visitors parking is available in Essenwood, St Thomas, Berea Park and Sydenham roads with car guards on site.
