Avo picking teen yet to be buried

Njabulo Mzimela's family appeals to the community to raise funds.

A 16-year-old Fisikele boy who died after falling five metres from an avocado tree in Hillside Road on Monday afternoon, 23 March, is still to be buried.

This is due to his family not being able to afford a funeral for him.

According to Netcare 911 coastal media liasion, Chris Botha, the boy was picking avos from a tree that hangs over a fence, above the road. He fell onto his head and arms on the tarmac and sustained multiple injuries, including breaking both arms and sustaining head injuries.

The boy, whose identity was unknown at the time of the incident, was rushed to Prince Mysheni Hospital, but died due to his injuries.

Njabulo Mzimela’s family appeals to the community to raise funds for a tent and food to bury the teenager.
