SATURDAY, 4 APRIL: Full moon beach walk from 6pm. Starts at Warner Beach to Winkle Beach and back. If it is raining the walk will be held on Sunday. For more information, call Yvonne on 074-190-0949.

 

SATURDAY, 4 APRIL: The Illovo Shree Maha Vishnu, Mareiamman and Kaliamman Alayams 107th annual chariot festival hosts the Shreedevi Bumedevi Samathe Narayana Thiru kalyana Utsavam (wedding ceremony) at 7am. The chariot departs the temple for the grounds at 10am and will return to the temple from the grounds at 3pm.

 

THURSDAY, 9 APRIL: KZN branch of the South African Military History Society meets at 7pm for 7.30pm in the Murray Lecture theatre, Department of Civil Engineering, UKZN Howard College campus. Speakers are Ken Gillings on ‘World War 1 comes to the Northern Cape’ and Charles Whiteing on ‘The Normandy Massacres’. SUNDAY, 5 APRIL: Umdoni Business Chamber hosts an Easter Carnival at Scott Street from 9am to 5pm. Stall holders, artists, musicians and performers are encouraged to participate in this family day event. Everyone is invited to this colourful community-based function. SATURDAY, 18 APRIL: Jehovah’s Witnesses hold an assembly at Amanzimtoti Civic Centre. This semi-annual event attracts Witnesses and non-Witnesses from Scottburgh to the Bluff. The theme is ‘Keep seeking Jehovah’s righteousness’, which is based on Matthew 6:33. Entry is free, and no collections will be taken. Everyone is welcome to attend.
