Burglar smashes window to steal TV

This is the first incident I've had in 11 years of living here.

An Ilanga Drive resident is flabbergasted at the brazen nature of robbers who smashed his bedroom window to steal his TV while he was asleep in the early hours of Thursday morning, 19 March.

Whitey and Lorraine Branders said they “woke up for some reason” at about 3am.

“The centre pane of my bedroom window was smashed in with a pick axe and before I knew it, hands were grabbing at my flatscreen TV.

There were not more than two guys.”

Whitey said the thieves just ripped the TV out of his cabinet, before running and jumping over his neighbour’s wall to make their escape.

“First they dropped my TV on the floor and then the one guy just threw it over the wall.

This is the first incident I’ve had in 11 years of living here.

My bedroom is at the back of my house, away from the road, so they must have scouted my yard.”

The CCPO warn residents to be alert and if their or their neighbours’ dogs start barking, to go and investigate, as this is not an isolated incident.
