Array of fun planned for annual Gathering

There will be a variety of events and entertainment for the whole family.

AMANZIMTOTI Lions Club is well into the planning stages of the 51st Highland Gathering at Hutchison Park in Toti on Saturday, 2 May.

A lifestyle expo will again be held in conjunction with the Gathering, the largest of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere.

Locals and visitors can look forward to a variety of events for the whole family to enjoy. There will be displays from Scottish dancers and bagpipers, who are the main attraction.

Singers, Keely Crocker and Rowan Graham will strut their stuff on stage and provide more entertainment for the crowds.

There will be a variety of arena events, children’s entertainment, two beer tents and a tea garden. For shopaholics there will fleamarket and craft market stalls. A variety of food stalls will cater to all tastebuds.

To book a stall, email John.d.k.west@gmail.com. The onus is on food stallholders to obtain certificates from the health department.

A beauty pageant, which is also a highlight of the Gathering will see beauties take to the ramp in the Mini Miss Highland Gathering (three to six-years-old); Miss Junior Highland Gathering (seven to 12-years-old) and Miss Highland Gathering (13 to 18-years-old). Masterchef SA winner, Roxi Wardman will judge the beauty pageant. Pageant forms can be handed in at the information kiosk at Galleria. However, payment must only be made on the day of the event.

The Lifestyle Expo is a high impact, one-stop shopping experience and will have something for everyone. A number of high profile brands have already signed on, which include Mark White Nissan, BMW Supertech, Virgin Active and Trimwise Blinds.

Visitors can also find showstopper deals at the Makro marquee. Shoppers will also receive goodie bags, Makro vouchers and lots more.

Whether you are looking for a new vehicle or home, planning a family holiday or wanting to pamper yourself, you will be able to find everything at the Lifestyle Expo.

The Lifestyle Expo will also offer a food court area, exciting kids area and a demo arena.
